The special assembly series is based on the capacity of standard linear drainage pipes, integrated outlets at 200 mm intervals, connected to 90 mm or 100 mm pipes, greatly improving drainage performance.

For more than 30 years, Stormtech has been providing the most advanced linear drainage systems for the local (and global) construction and design industries. The family business first started when its founder, John Creighton, was asked by an architect to help her design a roll-in shower for a wheelchair-bound client. John's response was to create a special drainage grille, which basically separates the wet area of the shower from the dry area of the bathroom, without the need for stoves or multi-directional slopes to effectively remove water.

Since the introduction of Stormtech's original 65ARG Slimline linear drain, the business has expanded the use cases, versatility and functionality for many different applications and purposes, from threshold drains to pool drains. The stylish linear drainage grids as Stormtech's business card are now ubiquitous in Australia, and like any truly innovative product, their potential is continuously improved, further developed and expanded.

One of the first innovations of Stormtech's ultra-thin linear drainage system is the special assembly series. This series provides designers and specifiers with a drainage solution developed to meet high-capacity drainage needs, providing flexibility for any outdoor application, especially in landscape and swimming pool design.

The special assembly series is based on the capacity of the standard linear drainage system and integrates multiple outlets along the entire length of the drainage channel. This simple and efficient system does not require large outlets at both ends of the ditch, thereby improving the convenience of installation and increasing the versatility.

The special assembly system has a 65 mm wide UPVC channel that is connected to the socket in the lower 100 mm drain pipe through the downpipe at 200 mm intervals. The length of the downpipe can be customized according to the parameters of a specific project, and allows the pipe to be installed horizontally, while the drain pipe has enough drop for self-cleaning. Then use AR, TR or PS series stainless steel grilles to complete special components.

Discharging water through multiple outlets along the length of the channel has multiple benefits. First of all, combined with Stormtech's famous drainage grid, the special assembly system is very effective in filtering the solid waste in the runoff, reducing the chance of clogging. The grate gap is 2mm-5mm, and most of the waste remains on the top, which is easy to clean. Substances entering the drain are regularly transferred to the 100 mm drain, reducing the chance of accumulation at larger but less frequent outlets.

In turn, this greatly improves the efficiency of the drainage pipe and enables it to remove large amounts of water more effectively than standard drainage pipes of similar size. The combination of a smaller, thinner profile and increased capacity makes the special assembly system very suitable for almost any design concept and suitable for a wide range of applications. Special Assembly is suitable for everything from commercial public works to backyard landscaping, driveways, paving applications and swimming pool design.

With the horizontal linear grille, special components can also be easily incorporated into door frames and thresholds to achieve horizontal thresholds. This makes it suitable not only for standard entry/exit applications, but also for all applications where accessible design is a key consideration. This is particularly important in industries such as public space, multi-dwellings, and hotels.

When specifying the drainage system, the service life of the function is the key, and the special assembly system is durable. Channels, downpipes and drain pipes are made of sustainable and extremely durable uPVC. Stormtech also provides a series of innovations for specific locations and installations to extend the service life of stainless steel grilles, such as electrolytic polishing, or choose to use 316 (marine grade) stainless steel to extend the service life of the product. These options are particularly useful in situations where the grate may be exposed to higher levels of oxidation or corrosion, such as for swimming pool installations, locations near the coast, or locations with particularly acidic soils.

Stormtech has more than 30 years of construction drainage experience, and all products have passed Greentag and Watermark certification. Stormtech is proud to have a reputation as the only drainage manufacturer that has obtained the A-level GreenTag™ certification-Australia's most respected third-party environmental product certification body, and the only product rating certification approved by the Australian Green Building Council. In addition, the special assembly drainage system was recognized by the DesignMark of the Australian International Design Award for its innovation.

No matter what building codes are required, special components can be directly connected to all rainwater or sewage systems. Like all Stormtech drainage pipes, the system fully complies with many building codes, especially the pipe code AS3500. Over the years, Stormtech has worked closely with regulators, legislators, end users, traders, and distributors to develop problem-solving products. Their experienced team welcomes any questions about product selection and compliance.
